Services

This section of the website details the services that I offer. It does not, however, detail pricing details.

Services available include: Perl CGI, PHP Scripting, SQL Database Development & Maintenance, and Website Development.

Perl CGI

I have had about three years of experience coding web apps in perl. Including getting user input, passing it to the cgi. The cgi would then process the info it needed and return the input and output to the browser for the next step.

The best example I have of this is the original Online Work Order System I wrote for the Department of University Housing at Georgia Southern University. For information on this set of perl scripts you can click on portfolio at the top and bottom of this page.

Experience includes using sendmail, sql, file processing, arrays, if/then/else, for loops, while loops, foreach loops, strings, split and join functions and parsing web content.

PHP

I have about three years of experience coding web apps in PHP. Including getting user input, passing it to the cgi. The php would then process the info it needed and return the input and output to the browser for the next step.

The best example I have of this is this website, as well as www.othernet.org. More information can be found under the Portfolio tab and link at the top and bottom of this page.

Experience includes using sendmail, sql, file processing, arrays, if/then/else, for loops, while loops, foreach loops, strings, split and join functions and parsing web content.

SQL

The majority of my work with SQL has been focused on Oracle's implementation of it in their Oracle 8i database. This work was done in the Information Systems Database class. We primarily did the developer aspect of Oracle.

I have taken what I learned in that class and applied it to a MySQL Database I run on my local area network and on a production server at Othernet.   [Return to Top]

Web Development / Consulting

The first time I ever touched a web page or document was in 1994 just after the web began to take. Since that day I have been doing html practically non-stop.

Since that time I have done several sites and prototypes since then. However, basic html seems to be the best. I prefer the use of plain html compaired to the use of frames and panels. I have learned that the best method is to keep it simple.

For excellent examples of sites I have done click on portfolio link at the top or bottom of this page.
